“My Puppa” by Rebecca Lynn Rivard for her loving Puppa. Like the warm and gentle breezes of summer, you faded into a mild fall and then to a barren winter. But even in those cold days that would be an end, you brought love back into a family that loved you in return. A bright light among mere men, you shine with the balance of a red Indian summer sunset. Hands like leather that could turn to creamy butter in the instant of needed comfort. A man with much devotion to family, friends, and animals. As a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great great-grandfather, you were the family’s pillar of strength. You will be sadly missed, but we know you are in a better place, so sleep my dearest Puppa, and feel no more pain, have no worries for we will all meet again.
