LIVERMORE – Selectpersons were pleased to learn Tuesday night that the auditor, RHR Smith, found the town’s finances to be in good shape.

After commenting on three items and cautioning the town to adhere to its adopted budget, auditor Ron Smith said, “Overall, we are pleased with the financial health and the progress you have made at the town.”

Code Enforcement Officer Richard Marble said he had issued permits for 14 new homes in 2003 at a total value of $1,655,000. The average value was $118,214, he said.

He also issued permits for five mobile homes.

The board asked Administrative Assistant Kurt Schaub to negotiate with David Small his proposal to plow Bean Street, a road that’s difficult for the town crew to get to in a timely fashion.

Schaub reported that John O’Donnell and Associates plans to have property inspections for the new valuation done by Feb. 14. Those values will be sent to property owners in the spring with final implementation by the usual September tax commitment date, he said.

He also reported that Alison Hagerstrom, executive director of the Greater Franklin Development Corp., will attend the joint meeting Tuesday with the Livermore Falls selectmen at 6:30 p.m. in Livermore Falls. She will discuss what her group might do for the communities.

The board reviewed an estimate for the reconstruction of Sanders Road, which totaled $222,732, a cost of $96,840 per mile. Included in the estimate was $157,618 for paving.
