BETHEL – Senior forward Krystle Gould drained 13 points as the Rebels sailed to a 56-34 win over Carrabec in MVC girls’ basketball action Thursday.

The Rebels came out of the gate quick and settled for a 24-16 lead at the half. Jillian Kimball and Abby Wentworth tallied 11 points apiece during the Rebels’ balanced attack.

The Cobras struggled in the third frame as the Rebels ripped the game open with a 19-9 run with the help of turnovers. Carrabec was paced by Kelly Rudman and Magen Marril with nine points apiece.

Mountain Valley 50, Wiscasset 44

RUMFORD – Sophomore guard Kristen Arsenault scored 15 points to lift Mountain Valley to a 50-44 win over Wiscasset in MVC girls’ basketball action Thursday.

Sasha Theriault had a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds for the Falcons (7-6). Jennifer Arsenault added 10 points.

The Redskins (8-5) compensated for a weakened offense with seven 3-point field goals, but failed to overcome Mountain Valley’s strength. Guard Sarah Whitfield notched the game-high 17 points.

Hyde 22, Hebron 21

HEBRON – Meddy Hurd and Eden Walker combined for 14 points to lead Hyde Academy to a 22-21 victory over Heborn in girls’ basketball action Thursday.

Danielle Dawson tallied seven of the remaining eight points for the Phoenix. Maddy Campbell tossed a game-high 11 points for Hebron.
