1942 – 2004

BANGOR – Albert L. Pratt, 61, a resident of Waterville for the last 16 years, died at Eastern Maine Medical Center on Jan. 21, after suffering massive heart attacks at home on Jan. 17, from which he never regained consciousness.

“Al” was born May 25, 1942, in Lewiston the second of five sons of Albro C. Pratt Jr. and Jane Cyr. He graduated from St. Peter’s Grammar School in Lewiston, and later from Webster Junior High School in Auburn; he attended Edward Little High School in Auburn.

As a member of the U.S. Army Reserve he spent six months with the Army on active duty training at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas, and completed his term of service with his unit in Auburn.

He was employed by Maine Oxy-Acetylene of Auburn for nearly 40 years where he was responsible for cylinder control.

He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed canoeing, sailing, swimming, and hiking. In recent years he and his brothers enjoyed motorcycling vacations to North Carolina, and Prince Edward Island.

He is survived by his fiancée, Shirley Ouellette; his daughter, Jennifer of Key West, Fla.; his brothers, Walter and his wife Jeanne of Norwich, Conn., Raymond of San Diego, Calif., John and his wife Sandy of Tampa, Fla., and Gene and his wife Jody of Somerville, N.J.; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews.
