LEWISTON – Permanent cosmetic makeup, “trigger point” massage therapy, and new skin treatments are among the host of new services being offered at Cassiel’s Skin Care as the company marks its tenth year in business, owner Diane Dubois said.
“We’ve grown to be so much more than we were. We have a lot of good things in the works for the future.
The business, formerly Modern Electrology and Skin Care, is at 71 East Ave. While electrology remains at the heart of her business, Dubois has also become certified in micropigmentation, the application of permanent makeup to enhance a person’s appearance and conceal defects. Dubois, one of the few-licensed micropigmentologist in Maine, offers areola enhancement as well as eyeliner, eyebrow shaping and lip color.
Valerie Kelshaw, a licensed skin care therapist, Amber McWhorter, licensed massage therapist, and Ami Frederick, a licensed electrologist, are the latest to join Cassiel’s.
Kelshaw, a 1998 graduate of the Institute of Skin Science in Manchester, N.H., specializes in the treatment of severe acne and performs facials, glycolic treatments and body waxing.
McWhorter is a 2003 graduate of the Utah College of Massage Therapy. Her training included structural bodywork, trigger point therapy, infant, pregnancy and sports massage, cranial sacral therapy, Shiatsu, reflexology and hydrotherapy. McWhorter is also certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid.
Frederick is a 1999 graduate of the Boston Electrology Training Center. Her training included studies in bacteriology, aniology, neurology, skin and hair. Electrology is the only permanent medical method of hair removal.
