Lady Hornets split two

TURNER – The Turner-Greene Lady Hornets split a pair of recent games in the Central Maine Girls Seventh-Eighth-Grade Travel Basketball League.

The Hornets beat Skowhegan 51-40 as sisters Morgen and Brooke Bernier combined for 26 points. Ashley Bryant added 13. Jess Fields and Juliana Kirkland each contributed 4.

Augusta Patriots trimmed the Hornets 43-26. In a losing effort, Ariane Bowie hit two 3-pointers and dished out 3 assists. Alicia Dill added 4 points and Liz Moreau 2.

YMCA Youth League

AUBURN – The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA team picked up 2 wins in recent action in the Central Maine Boys Third-Fourth-Grade Travel Basketball League.

Corbin Hyde netted 12 points and Jacob Downing added 8 as YMCA beat Turner 49-18. Jordan Hersom scored 8 for Turner. Jared Richardson added 3.

YMCA also defeated Gardiner 40-30 as Hyde tallied 8 and Ian Therriault 6. Palmer and Walton both netted 8 for Gardiner.
