1916 – 2004

PORTLAND – Martha Nolin Vincent, 87, a resident of Yarmouth, died Monday, Jan. 26, at the Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston, on April 7, 1916, a daughter of Henri and Delvina Nolin. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1935. She married Richard R. Vincent in 1936. They resided in Auburn and Lewiston until 1978, when they moved to Cape Elizabeth.

They enjoyed many winters in Florida. After the death of Richard in 1985, she came to live in Yarmouth with her daughter and family, where she made many friends through Sacred Heart Church, Calico Quilters and the Freeport YMCA. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, painting, quilting and gardening.

She is survived by her brother, Louis Nolin and his wife, Laurette of Lewiston; daughters, Priscilla “Pat” Pelletier of Yarmouth and Suzanne Welkner of Orlando, FL; a daughter-in-law, Linda Vincent of Steep Falls; six grandchildren, Michael Pelletier and his wife, Sujatha of Senegal, Catherine Shallow and her husband, David of So. Portland, Marc Pelletier and his wife, Christina of Riverview, FL, Christopher Vincent and his wife, Carolynn of Arlington, MA, Jacob Vincent and his wife, Leigh of Windsor, VT, Danielle Welkner of Orlando, FL. One of the greatest joys of Martha’s life has been the time spent playing with her five great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by her son, Paul R. Vincent; and her son-in-law, Maurice Pelletier.
