NORWAY – Friday, Jan. 30, is the next date for the Norway Coffeehouse Open Mic night at the First Universalist Church, 479 Main St.

Sign-up for performers begins at 6:30, and the open mike begins around 7 p.m.

Performers of all ages are encouraged to bring and share their acoustic musical instruments, original music and poetry in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, organizers say.

There will be vending opportunities for those artists with CDs or writing for sale and refreshments will also be available. In months past, singer/songwriters, magicians, stand-up comedians, poets and dancers, both children and adults, have taken the stage at the historic Norway church providing many evenings of great local entertainment.

Now in its third year, the monthly open mike nights, held on the last Friday of each month, are hosted by Maine performer and recording artist Heather Pierson.

The evenings have raised hundreds of dollars for local nonprofit and charitable agencies.

For more information, people can contact Pierson at (207) 935-4505 or e-mail vessel@prexar.com.

Admission is $3.
