1928 – 2004

WATERFORD, Conn. – Joe Thomas Burns, 75, formerly of Bowdon, Ga., died Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Bayview Healthcare Center.

Mr. Burns was born Aug. 29, 1928, in Frankfort, Ind., son of the late Ralph Dennis and Dorothy Burns. A graduate of Purdue University, he was retired from Georgia Kraft Co. in Rome, Ga., and a past President of the Lions Club in Bowdon, Ga.

Mr. Burns is survived by his wife, Lois formerly Lois Bourne of Meriden, Conn., now of Ruth Dr., Old Saybrook, Conn.; three daughters, Kathleen Burns of Litchfield, Deb Krenz of Wheat Ridge, Colo., and Kim Stresing of Canandaigua, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Frederick, Amanda, and Juliana Stresing of Canandaigua; two sisters, Eileen Lussier of Wallingford, Conn., and Inez Colby of West Lafayette, Ind.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a long time family friend, Cornelia Dolana of Old Saybrook.

He was predeceased by a brother, William Burns.
