1914 – 2004

LEWISTON – Rose M. Belanger, 89, of Lisbon Road, Sabattus, died at d’Youville Pavilion on Monday, Feb. 2, following a two year battle with breast cancer. Her life’s journey here on Earth has ended and now she begins a new journey to heaven to be with the Lord and her husband Alex who died in 1979.

The daughter of Josephine and Chester Judd, she was a born May 29, 1914. She grew up and received her education in Livermore Falls schools. She and Alexandre were married June 1, 1940. She worked for many years as a shoe worker in the Lewiston & Auburn area and was an active member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Sabattus.

She is survived by a son, Lucien Belanger and wife Lorraine of Sabattus; four daughters, Anita Stevens and husband Albert of Florida, Alma Normand and husband Roland of Brunswick, Doris Sanborn of Florida, and Carmen Fournier and husband Philip of Augusta; her family also includes nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Tom Judd; and five sisters, Maryange Castonguay, Theresa Bilodeau, Joan Lauzier, Jenny Mercier and Noella Mercier.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law; a great-granddaughter; three brothers; and two sisters.

She is now with God in peace and serenity.
