LEWISTON – Robert M. Gilbert, president of the Saints Peter and Paul Society, will be the speaker on Sunday, Feb. 8, following the 8 a.m. breakfast meeting in the Dominican Conference Room.
As chairman of the Social Justice and Peace Commission at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, his topic will be “Globalization, Privatization and Issues of Social Justice and Peace.”
Gilbert graduated from St. Peter’s Elementary School and St. Dominic High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Bates College and a master of education degree from the University of Maine in Orono. He retired after 30 years in the Auburn Public School System as a teacher and administrator.
Gilbert also serves as chairman of the Parish Council, member and secretary of the Finance Commission and as a reader and Eucharistic minister. He is also on the Advisory Board of the Franco-American Heritage Collection Center at Lewiston-Auburn College, University of Southern Maine.
