1925 – 2004

LEWISTON – Lucille C. Pare, 78, of Stratton, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Central Maine Medical Center where she had been a patient for the past five days following a brief illness.

She was born June 2, 1925, in Lewiston, a daughter of Phillip and Eva R. (Grenien) Couilard.

She was educated in the schools of St. Martin, Canada.

She married Roland Pare, Aug. 14, 1946, in St. Martin, Canada. He died April 14, 1989. She owned and operated with her late husband Roland the Stratton Diner for many years retiring in the early 1990’s.

She was a past member of the Stratton Lions Club, and a communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church of Stratton.

She was a volunteer in local activates of the town. She enjoyed embroidery and loved to cook.

She is survived by a daughter, Pauline Barnett of Kingston, Mass.; a son, John and his wife Melissa Pare of Stratton; several brothers and sisters in Canada; and a brother in Connecticut; four grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
