FARMINGTON – The 11th annual Community Wellness Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the UMF Health & Fitness Center sponsored by Franklin Community Health Network and HealthReach Community Health Centers.

The fair offers free health screenings and interactive booths with quick, simple ways to improve health. There will also be a chance to win door prizes including a $250 heating oil certificate, a treadmill and a $50 Hannaford gift certificate.

Some of the health screenings planned include osteoporosis, asthma, cholesterol, hearing, vision, spinal, mental health, diabetes risk assessment, skin analysis and blood pressure screenings.

Fair goers may also get answers from area health professionals to their questions about nutrition, physical activity, breast health, tobacco cessation, local health services, finding a physician, and many health and wellness topics.

Many other area agencies also will be represented at the fair.

The UMF Health & Fitness Center will offer free introductory fitness classes as part of its free Saturday, which takes place the first Saturday of every month.

This year’s fitness schedule includes: 10 a.m. Yogalates, 10:30 Step/Kick, 11 a.m. water exercise, 11:45, guts and butts, Noon Hip Hop Funk, 12:30 Cycle, 1 p.m. Transend dance, 1:30 p.m. Bosu Ball Full Body workout.

Scuba demonstrations will be held throughout the day in the pool.

Children may visit the “Be A Kid Corner” filled with children’s activities while parents participate in the screening and fitness events.
