NORWAY – Dr. Ken Hamilton of Paris will facilitate three book discussions at 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Norway Memorial Library on Main Street.
The book titled “The Secret Knowledge of Water” by Craig Childs has been selected for the first discussion. A review that appeared in Library Journal stated, “Over the course of two years, naturalist and adventurer Childs took a series of month-long treks on foot through each of the North American deserts in search of water. An astute observer of nature and a concise writer with a knack for storytelling, he meticulously recorded each significant occurrence in an attempt to understand how the absence or presence of something most of us take for granted dictates life and death in the harsh environment.”
Highlights include terrifying accounts of flash floods and a fascinating cave exploration, complete with wet suits, deep in the Grand Canyon.
Hamilton is known in the community through his medical practice and his work at H.O.P.E., the Healing Of Persons Exceptional center.
