OXFORD – The company has the resumes. Now it wants to meet the prospective employees.

Representatives from an international financial services company will be at Oxford Town Hall on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 11 and 12, to interview job applicants, said Barb Olson, vice president of the Growth Council of Oxford Hills.

Interviews will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday. The interviews will take place even though the company has not made a final decision on whether to locate in Oxford or Pittsfield.

The company visited a dozen or more sites in Maine last week before narrowing their choices to the two towns, she said.

The company likes Oxford in part because of the “turnkey” convenience of the already-established call center building on Route 26. Telemarketers The ICT Group will be vacating the 120 call center cubicles by March 1.

The ICT Group began operations in Oxford in 1997, after building owner John Schiavi customized the space to provide 200 call center cubicles. CCS Companies, a debt-collection business, occupies the rear of the building, with about 80 cubicles.

The unnamed company will conduct a similar interview process in Pittsfield. After that, they will make a final decision, Olson said.

Maine and Company, a state-run business attraction organization under the Department of Economic and Community Development, has been actively involved in helping the company find a place to expand to in Maine.
