1931 – 2004

LEWISTON – Constance Legee Guimond, 72, of 41 Cook St., Auburn, died with her family by her side on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Central Maine Medical Center, following a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Augusta on July 23, 1931, she was the daughter of Rosaire and Carmen (Gervais) Halle. She was educated in local schools, graduated from Edward Little High School, class of 1950, and played trombone in the school band. On April 12, 1954, she was married to Charles B. Legee, who passed away on June 23, 1980. She married her second husband, Adrian “Bud” Guimond on Nov. 19, 1993. Mr. Guimond passed away on Jan. 13, 2004. She was employed for some 42 years as a waitress at several area restaurants, including Marco’s, Happy Jacks and the Poland Spring Inn.

An active member of St. Louis Parish and her community, she taught CCD for many years and served as president of the St. Mary’s Hospital Widow’s Group. Always very athletic, she enjoyed golf, coached a New Auburn girls softball team for many years and could always be counted on for a game of broom hockey during the St. Louis Parish Winter Carnival. Her greatest joy, however, came from traveling around the state to watch her grandchildren’s games.

Survivors include: four sons, Charles Legee and wife, Barbara, of Chelmsford, Mass., Anthony Legee of Auburn, Joseph Legee and wife, Tina, of Turner, and Patrick Legee of Auburn; three daughters, Claudette and husband, Norman Jutras, of Hebron, Elizabeth and husband, Bertrand Asselin, of Auburn, and Mary and husband, Frank Ramich, of Auburn; a sister, Claudette and husband, Gene Higgins, of Yarmouth; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
