FREEPORT – Mrs. Norma D. Welch, 71, formerly of Tuftonboro, N.H. and Turner, died Saturday evening, Feb. 7, at The Freeport Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the past two years.
She was born in Center Ossipee, N.H., July 14, 1932, a daughter of Plummer and Etta (Bean) Colby and was educated in New Hampshire schools. She has been a resident of this area since 1980. On June 1, 1950 she married Lisle R. Welch who died May 7, 1987. She worked as a homemaker and housewife as she and her husband raised their only child. Before she became so sick many years ago, she enjoyed listening to music, going out and about, going to have her hair done and watching T.V., especially Lawrence Welk.
She leaves a son, Orrin P. Welch and his wife, Linda, of Poland; and two grandsons, Ryan Welch of Bowdoin and Matthew Welch of Poland.
