CHAMBERSBURG, Penn. – Salvatore N. “Sam” Papsadora, 80, formerly of Rumford for many years, died Friday, Feb. 6, at the Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Penn.
He was born in Rumford, on Dec. 4, 1923, a son of Francesco “Frank” and Maria (DeFilippo) Papasadora, and had attended Rumford schools.
He had been employed as a millwright at Oxford Paper Company in Rumford for many years and then worked as a construction worker for several construction companies in Waynesboro, Penn. for many years.
Sam was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church in Rumford and a member of the Owls Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Pennsyvania.
Survivors include: his former wife, Geraldine “Annie” Martin Papsadora of Largo, Fla.; three sons, Frank Papasadora and companion Dawn Simmons of Largo, Fla., William Papsadora and wife Charlene of Peru, Thomas Papsadora and wife Dottie of Scarborough; two daughters, Sandra Blanchette and husband, Danny, of Lisbon Falls and Judy Walker and husband, Lee, of Mexico; three sisters, Teresa Salatino of Rumford, Jennie Virgin and husband George of Dixfield, and Anne Garneau of Houston, Texas; four brothers, Onofrio “Paul” Papasadora and wife, Edith, of East Falmouth, Mass., Joseph Papasadora and wife, Marie, of Revere, Mass., Ralph Papasadora and wife, Betty, of Rumford, Vito Papasadora and wife, Joyce, of Wasilla, Alaska; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sons, Timothy and Daniel; two sisters, Laura and Mary; and two brothers Dominic and Frank.
