WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) – A hotel employee faces a murder charge after allegedly stabbing his estranged wife with a large kitchen knife on Tuesday at the hotel where they both worked, then trying to cut his own throat.
Police were called to the Beechwood Hotel at about 11 a.m., and found William Rodriguez, 39, and Carmen Rodriguez, 34, with stab wounds. Carmen Rodriguez died at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center, which was across the street.
William Rodriguez underwent surgery at the hospital and was listed in critical condition, according to police.
William Rodriguez, who was under guard at the hospital, has been charged with murder, according to police. The couple, who both worked at the hotel, had been married but had separated, police said.
