Incidents

• Feb. 12, 2:06 a.m.: An Elm Street caller reported she was being stalked by a Milton Plantation resident, based on her dog, which “has been acting ‘funny’ the last few days.” The woman told investigating officer William G. Britting that the dog acts “funny” whenever the Milton Plantation resident is around. Britting advised her that an “indictment” for stalking “is unlikely, based upon the actions of a dog.”

• Feb. 10, 6:21 p.m.: Reported car-deer collision on North Road, but investigating officer found no evidence of such a crash and labeled the incident as unfounded.

• Feb. 9, 4:20 a.m.: Assisted Bethel Fire Department with a reported structure fire at the Sudbury Inn on Main Street following a fire/smoke alarm. Guests and staff were evacuated. Investigators believe a malfunction occurred in a boiler, causing exhaust to be vented into the building.

• Feb. 8, 7 a.m.: A West Bethel Road resident reported the theft of his girlfriend’s 1999 white Subaru Legacy station wagon. He also reported that someone had entered his vehicle, which was parked outside his residence, rifled the glove box and vomited inside the vehicle.

• Feb. 4, 10 a.m.: Dale Johnson, 34, of 99A Songo Pond Road, Bethel, walked into the police station and notified Chief Darren M. Tripp that he is a registered sex offender and was required to notify the police chief of the town he moved into. Tripp stated in his report that Johnson is to have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.

• Feb. 3: Chief Tripp issued a speeding warning to truckers traveling through Bethel in the Route 2 corridor between the wood chipping plant in Shelburne, N.H., and MeadWestvaco in Rumford. He also advised his officers that as of Feb. 3, any driver who is found to be driving in excess of more than 5 mph over the posted speed limit is to be stopped, and at the minimum, issued a written warning. “Trucking companies are to be noted on all warnings and summonses to identify problem companies,” Tripp stated.

Arrests

• Jennifer A. Hanson, 28, of Braintree, Mass., on a charge of disorderly conduct, on Feb. 4 at 4:35 p.m., after she reportedly drove her car into a snowbank off Route 26 near the Chadbourne Tree Farm.

Summonses

• Eric D. Paul, 56, of Bethel, on charges of theft by unauthorized taking and/or transfer, criminal trespass and criminal mischief, on Feb. 9.

• Cory Ouellette, 23, of Bethel, on a charge of negotiation of a worthless instrument, on Feb. 9.

• Suzanne L. Willis, 41, of Bethel, on a charge of disorderly conduct, on Feb. 9.

• Jody Shimamura, 40, on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking and/or transfer, on Feb. 9.
