• Feb. 9, 10:35 p.m.: A Cumberland Street resident reported that someone had entered his apartment and stolen cash and rings. Following a routine records check, the resident, Peter J. Merrill, 44, of Rumford, was later arrested on a York County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of terrorizing. He was transported to Oxford County jail in Paris. Police are investigating the reported theft.

• Feb. 9: A referral from the District Attorney’s office of a gross sexual assault between a 16-year-old and a 13-year-old was turned over to Detective Lt. Wayne Gallant for investigation.

• Feb. 6: A report of unlawful sexual contact in Peru was turned over to the District Attorney’s office for investigation by Oxford County police.

• Feb. 4, 8:05 a.m.: A Maine Avenue resident reported that someone stole three rings valued at $1,990 sometime between Jan. 26 and Feb. 4.

• Feb. 3, 3:20 p.m.: A Lincoln Avenue resident reported $500 damage to two windows. The criminal mischief incident occurred between midnight and 12:30 a.m.

• Feb. 3: The Jan. 31 theft of a pair of Nordic skis and poles valued at $280 was reported from Black Mountain Ski Area.

Arrests

• Glen Knox, 19, of Canton, on charges of burglary and domestic assault, on Feb. 9. He was released on $1,000 unsecured bail.

• Scott M. Theriault, 34, of Rumford, on an Androscoggin County warrant for operating without a license, on Feb. 7. He was released on $200 cash bail.

• Wayne Giberson, 43, of Rumford, on a warrant for probation revocation for two counts of acquiring drugs by deception and stealing drugs, on Feb. 6. He was transported to Oxford County Jail in Paris.

• Daniel A. Flagg, 27, of Rumford, on Penobscot County warrants for failure to appear on charges of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, on Feb. 6. He was released on $500 cash bail.

• Jeffrey Smith, 20, of Rumford, on a warrant for failure to pay a fine on a charge of disorderly conduct, on Feb. 3. He was released on $128.75 bail.

• Bryan Isensee, 39, of Rumford, on a charge of possession of a usable amount of marijuana, on Feb. 7.

• Eric Zale, 60, of Rumford, on a charge of aggravated criminal mischief, on Feb. 5.
