1926 – 2004

LEWISTON – Joseph G.A. Pelletier, 77, of 376 Lisbon Road, Lisbon, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in Van Buren, Oct. 8, 1926, the son of Ludger and Marie Rossignol Pelletier, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

After his service to his country, he opened Pelletier & Sons Upholstery and was well known in the Lewiston and Auburn area. He was married Oct. 8, 1949, to Muriel M. Cloutier, who predeceased him July 3, 1990.

He was a loving and devoted father and husband and enjoyed his summers by the backyard pool, barbecuing with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula Libby and husband, Eric of Arundel; six sons, Joseph Jr. and Robert, both of Lisbon, Michael and wife, Doris of Auburn, Daniel and wife, Judy of Lewiston, James and wife, Susan of Mexico and John and wife, Joline of Lewiston; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two sisters, Jackie Farrell and husband, Robert of Illinois and Jeannine Smart of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by a son, David; and two brothers, Phil and Paul.
