BOSTON (AP) – Maine goalie Jimmy Howard and Northeastern goalie Keni Gibson stopped every shot they faced Saturday night, as the two teams skated to a 0-0 tie.

Northeastern (8-14-6, 2-11-5 Hockey East) outshot Maine 40-32, and had four power-play chances, but was unable to solve Howard (6-3-3). He stopped 17 shots in the third period. Maine (21-6-3, 12-4-2), which beat Northeastern 3-1 on Friday, had no more success solving Gibson (8-12-6). He made 13 saves in the first period. Howard stopped an Eric Ortlip shot with 3:49 left in the period, and made a glove save on a Mike Morris shot with 1:35 left in overtime, denying the Huskies.

Gibson robbed Derek Damon with 12 minutes left, and later deflected a shot by Mike Lundin off the post.

The shutout gave Gibson five for his career, setting a school record.
