1925 – 2004

JAY – Frances “Frankie” Therrien, 78, a resident of Lambert Street in Jay, died Saturday, Feb. 14, at her home following a short illness.

She was born in Oquossoc on April 6, 1925, the daughter of Frank and Laura Stimans Cosentino and was educated in Livermore Falls schools.

Her father was the owner of the Oquossoc Inn in Rangeley and was the first person to have an automobile and a chauffeur. He was also instrumental in the building of the Roman Catholic Church in Oquossoc. Frankie’s godfather was Father Boucher.

On June 2, 1973, she married Paul O. Therrien in Old Orchard Beach. They made their home in Livermore. Paul passed away on April 28, 1993.

She worked at Bath Iron Works during World War II as a welder, and later worked for Norwalk Shoe in North Jay and Bass Shoe Company in Wilton for many years.

She enjoyed reading, lawn sales and having ice cream at Gifford’s. She especially enjoyed the company of her dog “Star.”

She is survived by one son, Richard Knapp of Jay; one daughter, Linda Dearborn of Greene; three sisters, Laura Bennett of Fairfield, Eleanor Wilbur of Rangeley, and Louise Welch of Jay; two brothers, Eugene Turcotte of Livermore, and Lucien “Joe Pete” Dube, also of Livermore; four step-children and their spouses, Bill and Linda Therrien of Jay, Ronald and Jennie Therrien of Florida, Richard and Annette Therrien of Livermore, and Louise Parker of Livermore Falls; two grandchildren and their spouses, Sport and Sarah Knapp of Jay, and Hector and Tia Knapp of Livermore Falls; four great-grandchildren, Levi, Brandi, Tayla and Christian; 12 step grandchildren; and 16 step great-grandchildren.
