1906 – 2004
FARMINGTON – Gertrude H. Webster, 97, of Peru, died late Friday evening, Feb. 13, at the Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center in Farminton.
She was born Oct. 18, 1906, in Canton, the daughter of Ora and Flora Berry Hodge, and attended Canton schools.
On Sept. 27, 1927, she married Millard “Joe” Webster. They made their home in Peru as she worked and retired from BFD after many years of service.
Mrs. Webster loved playing Beano and traveled throughout the area finding games seemingly every night of the week. She also enjoyed crocheting, making afghans and doilies that she gave to her family, friends and neighbors.
She is survived by one son, John and his wife Irene of Peru; two grandchildren, Joyce Richard and her husband Donald of Farmington, and Beverly Garneau and her husband David of Lisbon Falls; four great-grandchildren, Donald Richard and Karrie of New Gloucester, Melissa Letarte and her husband Steve of New Sharon, and Aaron Garneau and his wife Kimberly of Durham; five great-great-grandchildren, Michael, Steve, Magan Letarte of New Sharon, Devin Garneau of Durham, and Gabriella Richard of New Gloucester; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1963; and by several brothers and sisters.
