NORWAY – Two Oxford County 4-H clubs will hold a Take-A-Chance Auction at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Legion Hall on Main Street. Doors open at 5 p.m. for ticket purchase and chances to win. This fund-raising event supports projects and travel for two 4-H Clubs in 2004. Auction items include crafts, toys, gifts and gift certificates donated by businesses. Each envelope contains 10 chances for $2.50. Special $10 envelopes will hold 45 chances. All proceeds benefit the two Oxford County 4-H clubs. For more information phone 743-6329 or 1-800-287-1482.

Chinese Auction

BRIDGTON – The fourth annual Good Neighbors Chinese Auction will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Brook Elementary School. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Items include two Red Sox and Yankee games, and one Red Sox and Mariners game, a lobster bake for four, 100 gallons of oil, a load of loam, furniture, ski passes, Sea Dog tickets, passes to Storyland, the Museum of Science and Funtown, and much more. Roast pork supper

PARIS – A public roast pork supper and dance featuring the Parisians Band will be offered beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Legion Hall on Church Street. Combination of events is $8 per person. Supper only is $6. Dance is $4 and will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Sponsored by the South Paris Legion 72 and Unit.

OXFORD – A dance featuring the Country Ladds Band will be held from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Emugene Staples Hall, Route 121. Free ice. Sponsored by the Oxford Fire Department and Auxiliary Corp.

Baked bean supper

PARIS – A public baked bean supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, across from the Fox Elementary School. The menu will include hot dogs, casseroles, salads, brown bread, rolls and pies. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children under 12.

Waterford supper

WATERFORD – The Waterford Firemen’s Auxiliary will host a public supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Fire Station at 366 Valley Road. The menu will offer casseroles, beans, and homemade desserts. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children age 12 and under.

Finnish music

BERLIN, N.H. – Ancient sounds will echo anew when the Maine Kanteles entertain with their traditional Finnish lap harps at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 29, at the Community Arts Center, 155 Emery St. Eleven women will perform on instruments that replicate those dating back 2000 years ago. The women will also sing in Finnish and English. The concert is presented as part of the Northern White Mountain Chamber of Commerce Winterfest Celebration. Advance tickets are $8 and may be purchased from the Chamber of Commerce on Main Street. Tickets at the door are $10.
