JAY – Police charged a Jay teen with failure to report an accident by quickest means after the vehicle he was in left Old Jay Hill Road. A passenger in the vehicle was injured when he struck his head on the windshield, police said.

The two were not identified because they are juveniles.

Witnesses reported to police Friday that a vehicle had been in an accident Thursday evening, and someone was hurt, Jay police Chief Larry White Sr. said.

The vehicle was pulled out of the snow, he said.

Those involved in the accident failed to report and left the scene, White said.

Witnesses reported the teenagers looked to be high school students, he said.

Police investigated and from information they received, they were able to track down the driver and issue a summons, White said.
