BETHEL – The new Ordinance Review Committee will attempt to get organized at its first meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in the town office.
The committee, which was established by the Board of Selectmen last July, is tasked with reviewing comments and concerns regarding Bethel’s many ordinances.
Ordinance-related items up for review include:
• The Appeals Process
• The Shoreland Zoning map
• Access Management
• Site Plan Reviewed
• Private/public roads
• The sewer system development charge fee
• Animal control
• Traffic and parking
The Appeals Process is already undergoing review in joint meetings with the Ordinance Review Committee, selectmen, and the Appeals and Planning boards.
Committee spokeswoman Elizabeth Cooper said committee members could provide input, but could not conduct separate meetings on the subject.
She said the panel expects to meet four to six times before town meeting in June.
