LIVERMORE FALLS – A Hartford man was arrested in Livermore Falls for alleged sexual misconduct with a 5-year-old girl.

Jason Abbott, 21, formerly of Livermore Falls, was charged with unlawful sexual contact involving the Livermore Falls child, said Heidi Gould, sexual assault investigator for Livermore Falls Police Department.

Gould said she conducted the investigation after someone reported the allegations.

Abbott was out on bail on a domestic violence charge last fall.

Livermore Falls police officer Roderick Small learned Abbott was back in town Saturday and arrested him on a warrant, Gould said.

Abbott was taken to Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn after his arrest. He was later released on $300 cash.

Gould said Abbott’s release conditions include no contact with anyone under 18.
