1916 – 2004

RUMFORD – Mary H. Viger, 87, died Monday, Feb. 16, at her residence on Forest Avenue, Rumford.

She was born in Madison, on April 8, 1916, a daughter of Joseph and Helen (Horvat) Stoklas, and the step daughter of Elizabeth Stoklas. She graduated from Jay High School Class of 1934.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius – St. John Church and a member of St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed arts and crafts, knitting and crocheting, playing cards and the piano, and she was a loving and devoted mother who especially loved her family.

She was married in Chisholm, on Sept. 2, 1939, to the late Raymond A. “Beau” Viger who died in Farmington, on Aug. 21, 1994.

Survivors include four sons, Raymond L. Viger of Rumford, Lawrence G. Viger and wife Angela of Bronxville, N.Y., Edmund C. Viger and wife Susan of Rumford, and Ronald J. Viger of Boston, Mass.; twin daughters, Mary Anne Armstrong and husband Joshua of Mechanic Falls and Anna Marie Cushman and husband Timothy of Denmark; two sisters, Margaret Piela of Lisbon Falls, and Elizabeth Coulombe of Jay; two brothers, Joseph Stoklas and wife Jenny of Mexico and Louis Stoklas of Jay; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, godchildren, great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Scott Viger.
