1925 – 2004
LEWISTON – Muriel L. Bernier, 78, a resident of Spring Street, Lisbon, died early Monday morning, Feb. 16, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her family at her side.
Born in Lewiston, Sept. 5, 1925, a daughter of Gedeon and Rose (Gagne) Lessard, she was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this area.
On Aug. 21, 1945, she married Romeo A. Bernier, who died on Sept. 7, 2002. She first worked many years in local shoe shops and later worked at Maine Electronics in Lisbon for 10 years, until her retirement in 1988.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church. Among her favorite enjoyments were spending fun times with her family, children and grandchildren and relaxing at the beach enjoying the ocean and the warm sunshine.
Survivors include two daughters, Claudette Bernier of Lisbon and Rejeanne Dubois and husband, Normand of Lowell, Mass.; a son, Denis Bernier and wife, Diane of Bowdoinham; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bertrand Lessard and wife, Betty of Vancouver, British Columbia.
