CARRABASSETT VALLEY – A woman was injured Wednesday after the tanker truck she was driving rolled over south of Sugarloaf on Route 27.

Police were still at the scene of the 11:30 a.m. crash late Wednesday afternoon.

Carole St. Pierre, 45, of Quebec was taken by air ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston and was listed in stable condition with bumps and bruises, according to Carrabassett Valley Police officer Ron Blodgett.

The driver lost control of the L’Breton Transport Co. rig carrying lime pellets on a corner and rolled over into a ditch about three to four miles south of Sugarloaf, said Carrabassett Valley Police Chief Ron Moody. The lime didn’t spill, he said.

Blodgett was still at the scene assisting as the lime pellets were being pumped from the truck early Wednesday evening.

Lime pellets are used in paper making.
