BOSTON – Heather Ernest drained 26 points and hauled down five rebounds to pace the University of Maine to a narrow 67-64 win over Boston University in women’s basketball action Wednesday.
Monica Peterson chipped in for the Black Bears (17-5) with 14 points. Katie Terhune led the Terriers (14-7) with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Becky Bonner chipped in with 14. Boston held a 33-25 lead at the break, then Maine poured in 42 points in the second half to steal the win.

ORONO – Shaun Wynn scored 10 of his game-high 13 points in the second half as Boston University built a 15-point halftime lead and held on to beat Maine 64-53 on Wednesday. A 22-3 edge in free throws proved decisive as the Terriers extended their winning streak to nine.
Boston University (20-4, 14-1 America East) used a 19-6 run late in the first half to build a sizable lead, but Maine (16-8, 10-5) chipped away in the second half, closing to within three points, 51-48, with 4:45 to play.
The Terriers responded with a 10-2 run to halt the Black Bears’ comeback bid.
Kevin Reed topped Maine scorers with 12 points. Eric Dobson added 10 points and seven assists, but also committed seven turnovers.
Rashad Bell scored 12 points for the Terriers and Chaz Carr added 11, including 7 of 9 from the line.
