ORONO – Shaun Wynn scored 10 of his game-high 13 points in the second half as Boston University built a 15-point halftime lead and held on to beat Maine 64-53 on Wednesday.

A 22-3 edge in free throws proved decisive as the Terriers extended their winning streak to nine.

Boston University (20-4, 14-1 America East) used a 19-6 run late in the first half to build a sizable lead, but Maine (16-8, 10-5) chipped away in the second half, closing to within three points, 51-48, with 4:45 to play.

The Terriers responded with a 10-2 run to halt the Black Bears’ comeback bid.

Kevin Reed topped Maine scorers with 12 points. Eric Dobson added 10 points and seven assists, but also committed seven turnovers.

Rashad Bell scored 12 points for the Terriers and Chaz Carr added 11, including 7 of 9 from the line.
