GARDINER – Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center’s eighth season of “ALIVE! From Johnson Hall” concerts begin March 5.

The series, which features Maine musicians, will be presented at 280 Water St., from Friday, March 5, through Friday, April 23. Shows are at 7:30 p.m.

In the historic 1864 Johnson Hall Opera House in downtown Gardiner, audiences will be able to hear bluegrass, country, pop, traditional folk, classic and original rock ‘n’ roll, swing, jazz and blues.

Series host Martin Swinger performs and introduces musicians. The schedule is: March 5: The Boneheads with special guest, Pat Colwell (classic soul and rock ‘n’ roll); March 12: North Star (contemporary bluegrass); March 19: Brad Terry with Steve Grover (jazz); March 26: JINXED (lively youth rock complete with a chem-free dance floor); April 2: Kennebec Performing Arts Company Ensemble (classical and pops); April 9: Old Grey Goose (traditional and Acadian dance music); April 16: Ukulele Eck and the Fabulous Lacklusters (vintage string swing); and April 23: Don Campbell – Unplugged (Nashville country).
