ST. PAUL, Minn. – Milan Hejduk netted his team-leading 27th goal, and Joe Sakic and Paul Kariya also scored as the Colorado Avalanche made the most of a season-low 14 shots in beating the Minnesota Wild 3-1 Sunday night.

The Avalanche scored once in each period despite not having more than five shots in any frame and snapped their losing streak at three games.

Minnesota, which scored 10 goals it its previous two games, generated more scoring chances throughout, but struggled again on the power play. The Wild have one of the NHL’s worst man-advantage units and failed to score on five power-play chances.

The Wild had the upper hand offensively in the first period, but Hejduk gave the Avalanche a 1-0 lead when his rising shot beat Dwayne Roloson’s glove.

Minnesota got even at 1 in the second period when Marc Chouinard scored for the third time in two games. After a pass from Alexandre Daigle, Chouinard’s slap shot from the right circle got past David Aebischer.

Blackhawks 3, Blues 2

CHICAGO – Stephane Robidas scored with 19.5 seconds left in overtime to give the Chicago Blackhawks a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues on Sunday.

Robidas skated into the slot, took a pass from Brett McLean and beat Chris Osgood with a low shot one second after a St. Louis penalty for too many men on the ice expired.

Kyle Calder’s power-play goal with 1:28 left in regulation got the Blackhawks into overtime.

Calder drove to the net and tucked a shot under Osgood after he slipped past Blues defenseman Eric Weinrich in the slot. Weinrich scored on a 45-foot shot with 2:54 left in the third to give the Blues a 2-1 lead. After a faceoff in the Chicago zone, Weinrich beat Craig Anderson after drifting in from the right point and firing through traffic.

Devils 3, Flames 1

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Patrik Elias scored two goals and the New Jersey Devils held Calgary without a shot while killing off a five-minute penalty in a 3-1 win over the Flames on Sunday. Scott Gomez assisted on both goals, giving him 10 assists in six games, and Martin Brodeur had 18 saves as the Devils won for the fourth time in six games (4-1-1).

Turner Stevenson iced the game with an empty-net goal with 13.7 seconds to play.

Stars 4, Mighty Ducks 0

DALLAS – Jere Lehtinen and Pierre Turgeon scored power-play goals, and Marty Turco stopped 14 shots for his 18th career shutout as the Dallas Stars beat the Anaheim Mighty Ducks 4-0 Sunday.

Mike Modano and Brenden Morrow added goals for the Stars, who extended their season-best, home-unbeaten streak to eight games (6-0-2) and are 11-3-2 overall in their last 16.

Senators 6, Penguins 3

PITTSBURGH – Martin Havlat scored three goals, two late in the game during a four-point day, and the Ottawa Senators ran Pittsburgh’s winless streak to a club record-tying 18 straight by winning 6-3 Sunday.

Milan Kraft and Ryan Malone scored in the second period as Pittsburgh tied it after trailing 2-0 and 3-1, but the Penguins still lost their 18th in a row (0-17-0-1) – the most ever by an NHL team.
