AUBURN – The Auburn Public Library will sponsor a book discussion of “The Disinherited” by Jack Conroy at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26.
Historian and Maine College of Art Professor Candace Kanes, discussion leader, will guide a talk in understanding the story, etched out of the author’s own experiences growing up in a desperately poor mining town. The story captures the robust and resilient essence of the American spirit during the Great Depression. Copies are available at the library.
