PORTLAND – Beatrice G. Anderson, 95, formerly of Buxton, who lived at the Gorham House for the past several years, died at Mercy Hospital on Feb. 22.

She was born in Harpswell, daughter of Clarence L. Goddard and Annie Mulcahy Goddard. She graduated from Morse High School and Gray’s Business College. She worked several years at Augusta State Hospital and was payroll clerk at CMG Hospital for 20 years.

Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Dorcas Society, Buxton Garden Club, Saco Valley Civic Association, Order of the Eastern Star and the Buxton-Hollis Historical Society. Mrs. Anderson enjoyed flower gardening and craftwork.

Survivors include her husband, Burton of 71 years; a son, Peter and wife Andrea of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Goddard and Selma Goddard both of Portland; and a brother, Donald Goddard of Falmouth.

She was predeceased by a son, Reginald; and three sisters, Barbara Averill, Hazel Wing and Myrtle Goddard.
