• Feb. 15, 8:40 p.m.: Caller reported that someone had shot out the rear window on her van. A police investigation revealed two possible BB gun shots.

• Feb. 15, 10:31 a.m.: The town’s animal control officer was notified after a patrol officer spotted two dogs, a brown Labrador retriever and a black Lab, running loose on Vernon Street.

• Feb. 15, 12:05 a.m.: Responded to a report of an intoxicated man trying to get into several vehicles on the Sunday River Road side of the Brew Pub. Police found a Newry resident with a bloodied face, who declined medical treatment. He was not arrested.

• Feb. 14, 10:40 p.m.: An Irving Mainway employee said he was assaulted at work by a man who reportedly bought a 30-pack of beer and gave it to a minor, who was sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot.

When the employee took the beer away, there was a scuffle and the employee was pushed.

The man who bought the beer fled west on Route 2 in a 2003 silver Toyota Corolla, while the minor and two other subjects fled east toward Newry in a 2001 Ford Focus.

The employee put the beer in the back of his pickup truck, but when he went out later to retrieve it, it was gone. The incident remains under investigation.

• Feb. 14, 11:59 p.m.: Responded to a report of a man, who was riding a snowmobile on the Walkers Mills Road over a bridge when the snowmachine rolled off the bridge and landed on the frozen river below. Two State Troopers took the incident over to report it to a Maine warden.

• Feb. 12, 9:30 a.m.: Turned a report of a husky dog at large on Route 26 over to the animal control officer.

ARRESTS

• Donald Roy, 39, town not listed, on a charge of operating under the influence, on Feb. 14 at 12:27 a.m. at the intersection of Vernon Street and Paradise Road. He was released on personal recognizance bail.
