RUMFORD – The Community Networking Meeting, sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition, is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25. The meeting will be held at the River Valley Business Resource Center at 34 River St.

Lisa Cailler of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice will review the lifeline program, how it works, services that lifeline offers and who may be appropriate for lifeline. She will also cover its impact for those at home, cost and misunderstandings of lifeline. She will talk about the geographical area it covers.

This meeting is also an occasion for other community organizations to share their issues and programs. Refreshments will be served.

The River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition works together on local issues that affect health and quality of life. Members of the community decide together which problems to address. Everyone is invited to attend. For more information phone 364-7408.

Mother Club celebrating

MEXICO – Mexico Mothers Club will observe its 80th anniversary at a noon lunch Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Far East Restaurant. The club was formed on Feb. 24, 1924. Meetings were held in members’ homes and leaders for meetings presented programs based on child-rearing issues. At one time the membership included three generations from one family and four sisters from another. Now, the club is mostly social. Meetings are held at noon in members’ homes on a regular basis, and each meeting has a leader who presents a short program on a subject of interest to the group.

GOP caucus set

RUMFORD – Robert A. Cameron, chairman of the Rumford Republican Committee, has issued an invitation to all registered Republicans in Rumford, Byron and Roxbury to caucus at 7 p.m. Feb. 29 in the Lower Court Room across from the Rumford Police Department in the Rumford Municipal building.

The main purpose of the biennial caucus is to allow registered voters who are enrolled in the Republican Party to elect delegates and alternates to the Republican State Convention. The convention this year will be held at the Augusta Civic Center on May 14 and 15. Other business of the caucus will include the organization of the local committee and the nomination of members to the Oxford County Republican Committee. All local Republicans are encouraged to attend the caucus and take part in the political process.
