BABE RUTH DAYS

The New England Patriots are doing better than any Boston team, but there is one team that has not won a world series since 1918; The Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox have won a total of Four World Series, all with Babe Ruth. They were victories over the Cubs, Dodgers, Phillies and the giants.

CURSE OF THE BAMBINO

Harry Frazee was the owner of the Red Sox from 1916-1923. During his times as the Red Sox owner, he made the SOX a strong team but the mistake he made in 1919 will haunt him forever. He traded Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees. He created “THE CURSE OF THE BAMBINO.” This curse was believed that it kept the Red Sox from winning another world series.

THE 1975 WORLD SERIES

In the 1975 World Series, the Red Sox and the Cincinnati Reds faced off for the world title. The Red Sox tried hard, but they lost their third straight World Series pennant in a row.

THE 1986 WORLD SERIES

This series was the last World Series the Red Sox have been at. The Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner made the mistake that the Red Sox fans will never forget. The Sox had a 3-2 lead over the Mets. They were one STRIKE AWAY!!!! from winning, but they couldn’t hold on. A shot by rookie Mookie Wilson through Buckner’s legs cost the Red Sox the game. They lost the seventh game with a score of 8-5.



2002-2003 POSTSEASON

The Red Sox have missed so many pennant tries. During the 2003 season they won the wildcard and lost to the Yankees in the American League Championship Series. Grady Little was blamed for the decision he made to keep Pedro in.

SOX FANS STILL HAVE HOPE

The Red Sox have two new players: Pokey Reese and Kurt Schilling. Even though they can’t get A-Rod, they still have hopes of a fifth World Series Championship. So for all you Red Sox fans reading this article, please have faith. We can win the world series.
