1924 – 2004

LEWISTON – Antoinette L. Gilbert, 80, of 102 Campus Ave., died Thursday, Feb. 26, at d’Youville Pavilion with her family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 6, 1924, the daughter of Louis and Onelda Saindon Pelletier. She was educated in local schools and was married June 20, 1942, to Gerald R. Gilbert who predeceased her Jan. 21, 1997.

Mrs. Gilbert was employed in local shoe shops and at Raytheon. She and her husband lived in Florida, from 1974 to 1986. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish and enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking and making crafts.

She is survived by a daughter, Louise Gravel and husband Fernand of Lewiston; a son, Leo Gilbert and wife Judy of Hobe Sound, Fla.; five grandchildren, Deborah Smith of Hayes, Va., Michelle Gravel of Auburn, Celeste Gravel of Lewiston, Carrie Gilbert and Douglas Gilbert both of Hobe Sound, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Kristina and Kayla Smith, Katie Lynn Gilbert; two sisters, Anita Hamann of Connecticut, and Carmen Mercier of Auburn.

She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Pelletier.
