PARIS – Marilyn Hammond will be the speaker at the 10 a.m. service at The First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, on Sunday, March 7. Her sermon is titled, “We Believe…,” a Lenten reflection on the principles of the Unitarian Universalist faith. The organ voluntaries will begin at 9:50 with Forest Perkins, organist. Sunday School will be in session and child care is provided. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.
Ideas needed
NORWAY – The Hewood Club of Norway will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 8, at the home of Nancy Michaud, 466 Crockett Ridge Road. Members are to come with ideas for programs for future meetings.
Extension program
FRYEBURG – Members of the Fryeburg Homemakers Extension will meet on Wednesday, March 10, at the Legion Hall on Bradley Street. Coffee will be served at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting follows at 9. Sandra Ruka, Carrol County Hospital coordinator, will speak on visiting nurses and hospice care. Guests and new members welcome.
Members should bring some handwork, crafts or an unusual item for show and tell. A potluck luncheon will be hosted by Phyliss Douglas and Elsie Hill.
Author to speak
BRYANT POND – The Whitman Memorial Library of Bryant Pond announces that Pat Stewart, author of the book, “Mollyockett,” will be speaking about the book at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11, for the book discussion group. The public is invited.
Irish music
BERLIN, N.H. – Dan Ryan, Irish tenor from the Boston area, will perform a St. Patrick’s Day Concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, at the Community Arts Center, 155 Emery St. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. For more information, call the Arts Center office at 603-752-1028.
