1910 – 2004
FARMINGTON – Evelyn C. Richard, 94, a longtime resident of Reynolds Avenue, Livermore Falls, died Tuesday, March 2, at Orchard Park Nursing Home where she had been a patient for one year.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1910, in Anson, the daughter of Omer and Elizabeth Savoy Gilbert. She was a graduate of Wilton Academy. On April 30, 1932, she married Adelard “Pete” Richard at St. Mary’s Church in Wilton. He passed away on Dec. 25, 1998.
She worked briefly in the local paper mill and lookout tower during World War II. She was a member of the Livermore Falls and Jay Senior Citizens, the North American Camping Assoc., and the Maine Rovers. She also enjoyed her years on the local bowling leagues.
She is survived by Gregg and Mary Ellen Richards and their son, Kyle who cared for her in her later years and with whom she lived with until entering Orchard Park Nursing Home last year; a son, Robert Richards of Livermore; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Gilbert Richards; and three sisters, Jeannette, Eileen and Edna.
