WATERFORD – Voters in Waterford will elect a selectman and school director Friday.

William Wheeler, a fifth generation Waterford resident, is running unopposed for a three- year term as selectman. Wheeler said he “truly looks forward to working with the other two selectmen,” Charles Fillebrown Jr. and Cynthia Hamlin.

Bill Hanger was appointed to the SAD 17 Board of Directors by selectmen last March to fill a vacancy until this year’s election. He is running unopposed to retain his position for another three years.

“I’m enjoying the service,” he said. “We have an excellent group of faculty and administrators, and a competent, caring board.”

Both candidates said they are looking forward to serving the town and its people.

Voting will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 5, at the Waterford Municipal Building. The annual town meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at the municipal building.
