NEW YORK (AP) – Two actors each from “General Hospital” were nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards Thursday, and the soap opera itself will compete for best daytime drama.
Anthony Geary and Maurice Benard of “General Hospital” were both nominated for best soap actor, along with Roger Howarth of “As the World Turns,” Grant Aleksander of “Guiding Light,” Thorsten Kaye of “Port Charles” and Eric Braeden of “The Young and the Restless.”
Nancy Lee Grahn and Tamara Braun of “General Hospital” each received nominations for best actress, along with Maura West of “As the World Turns,” Kim Zimmer of “Guiding Light” and Michelle Stafford of “The Young and the Restless.”
“As the World Turns,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Guiding Light” and “The Young and the Restless” joined “General Hospital” as best daytime drama nominees.
The 31st annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held May 21 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, telecast on NBC.
