LEWISTON – Amanda I. Bergeron of Lewiston, a senior at Lewiston High School, has been selected to receive the 2004 Principal’s Award.

Principal Patrick T. O’NeilI announced the award, which is sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association and given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

O’Neill said, “Amanda has consistently demonstrated the characteristics of responsibility and dependability so necessary in any leader. Throughout her years at Lewiston High School, Amanda has distinguished herself in the classroom, in interscholaslic competition and as a leader in the school and community.”

Bergeron, O’Neil and other award winners and their principals will attend an honors luncheon at the Bangor Civic Center at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 3.

The luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and pin. At the conclusion of the luncheon, drawings will be held for five $1,000 scholarships.

Bergeron is the daughter of Claude and Claudeen Bergeron of Lewiston.
