JAY – Two men were arrested on operating under the influence charges Friday after they failed to stop for police officers.

Scott Therrien, 33, of Jay was arrested on an OUI charge, as well as refusing to stop for a law enforcement officer and operating after suspension.

Roger Baldridge II, of Odessa, Texas, was arrested on OUI. He was also issued a summons for allowing operation of a vehicle by a violator of a state law.

Police received complaints of a vehicle driving erratically on Jewell Street and Franklin Road Friday.

Off-duty police officer Troy Young called police on a cell phone and reported having the vehicle in sight, Jay police Chief Larry White Sr. said.

Young in his own vehicle followed the pickup truck in question and saw the two occupants switch positions and continue on, White said.

The vehicle made it back to Main Street, also Route 4, and Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier ended up behind the vehicle, White said.

The cruiser had its blue lights on, siren and its front lights flashing and the truck still failed to pull over, White said.

The vehicle continued north on Main Street, not at a high rate of speed, he said, and turned onto Route 17.

The driver of the vehicle then turned onto Quarry Road where police from Jay and Livermore Falls caught up with it.

Therrien was the one driving the vehicle when the truck stopped, White said.

Baldridge posted $200 cash bail Saturday and Therrien posted $300 bail Saturday. Both have a court date of April 28 in Farmington.
