AUBURN – Bassmaster CastingKids Competition is scheduled for March 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Auburn’s K-mart. The event, sponsored by Androscoggin Bass Masters, is open to boys and girls in two age groups, 7-10 and 11-14.

The free contest involves the basics of fishing – flipping, pitching and casting. First time anglers are invited as instructors will be on hand. A parent or guardian must accompany the child. The contest begins at the local level where each child aims for a target. Winners from the local competition advance to the state and possibly national level.

“Bassmaster CastingKids is a great event that focuses on a terrific sport and its future,” commented Mark Swett, president of Androscoggin Bass Masters.
