SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) – Matt Yeats stopped all 44 shots and Graham Mink assisted on all three of Portland’s goals as the Pirates beat the Springfield Falcons 3-0 in the American Hockey League on Saturday.

Brad Parsons scored just 32 seconds before the first period ended to give Portland a 1-0 lead. The Pirates increased their lead to 2-0 on Francois Methot’s eighth goal the season at 14:50 of the second period.

Portland (24-24-8-2) increased its lead to three goals when Jason Ulmer scored with 8:18 remaining in the third. Jean-Marc Pelletier stopped 22 shots for Springfield (22-34-8-2).
